Latent Semantic Indexing Is Useful for Google

By Aaron Vincett

LSI is a term used by search engines to evaluate a website and assign that website a rank. The process is known as Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI for short. The goal is for a user to query a word and when the article comes up it is supposed to be pertinent to what the searcher is looking for. Google uses Latent Semantic Indexing to rate a website. Latent Semantic Indexing is a valuable tool for internet marketing and a term used help to place the website high on the list when a search is performed. Indexing documents helps marketing website in trying to maximize their website business.

Before Latent Semantic Indexing the user had to filter through so much spam and junk articles --sometimes never finding the information desired. Articles that meant nothing to the user needed to be sorted and search engines had to find the useless information and discard it. Google knew Latent Semantic Indexing would help place articles in a document matrix which placed a value on their relativity in a value decomposition form and thus keeping the articles on the internet or getting rid of the articles.

By using Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI a new focus is placed on internet marketing. SEO is becoming a big business; internet marketing businesses want to use what they have to get the most hits when it comes to an internet search. Keywords and term used in the article is what will place the website high or low on a Google search page. SEO writing will use terms so Latent Semantic Indexing will pick up and place an article high on the results page. SEO documents use lots of terms, keywords and maybe a phrase that will help a Google analysis rate the article high. Latent Semantic Indexing is just a way to perform this operation. Each word used in a document has a singular value; search engines rate that value and indexing occurs within Google's vast computers and robots assign a value to the article.

In essence, Internet marketing wants to build sites with in-depth content with quality and plenty of words to catch Google's attention. In the past a website could be penalized for having Superior content. With Latent Semantic Indexing that is not the case today. LSI or Latent Semantic Indexing is concerned with value of the website and if the term document has latent words and a good indexing value. Most internet companies ask; what can be done to improve the ranking on the Latent Semantic Indexing program? First: form a list of words that are interrelated. Use these keywords and phrases in the website article. Second: Concentrate on gaining inbound links to the internet marketing site desired. Write articles which will be easily found with a search and document on other websites.

Google is the only search engine that makes use of Latent Semantic Indexing, but that will change. Internet marketing is changing how indexing is done as well as how the search engine field works. Semantic analysis is becoming big business and Latent Semantic Indexing is the tool used.

For now follow the guidelines and use terms and words in articles so that search engines will place a singular value within the document matrix and the query using Latent Semantic Indexing will show your business first. Latent Semantic Indexing Is Useful for You
